As a kick-ass 30-year-old with a 9-to-5 grind and a love-hate relationship with my paycheck, I've asked myself some serious questions. Has life gotten easier since my wild 20s? The act of writing by hand with a fountain pen can provide a sense of contentment. In journaling, it's important to acknowledge and accept emotions, while also practicing self-compassion. It's important to nurture the relationship with oneself before others, and to accept differences and the fact that what we think is not always right. Coping with uncomfortable feelings can involve writing and talking to trusted individuals.

And that’s the thing that cuts me open wider as I swim deeper to the fact that when someone without the name did something, no one really appreciated their work, but when someone with popular existences did it, they said it was such an amazing work. 

I can like the smell of the ocean if the place where I’m standing is not close enough to where the fishers put their fishing tools or catch, because I just can’t stand the smell of saltwater fish. And I can like the aroma of the ground after hours of heavy rain if I were at some place where there’s grass and lots of tall trees.

I believe it’s the same reason that pumps my heart faster full of anger watching Bombshell and the same reason causing me a long hour of crying in desperation after I watched Promising Young Women.
On the other hand, that same reason is the very excuse for me not read news about sexual assault or child exploitation in our country because I’m protecting my mental health and feelings. Because I’m feeling powerless.
